Chodzinski, Raymond T. – Canadian Counsellor, 1983
Investigated the Career Maturity Inventory (CMI) using 535 Canadian high school students. As expected, intelligence, grade, and sex were significant predictors of the CMI variables. However, evidence for discriminant validity was unsatisfactory and inconsistent with the theoretical framework of CMI. (JAC)

This study examines the criterion-related and construct validity of the Career Maturity Inventory Competence Test, administered to 260 ninth-grade pupils. Results show the Competence Test is more highly correlated with the Cognitive Vocational Maturity Test than it is with the Attitude Scale. (Author)

This study examined the relationship of career maturity to both reading achievement and the socioeconomic status of sixth-grade Black males. It is concluded that socialization or vocationalization processes rather than reading achievement account for differences in vocational maturity. Implications for counseling are discussed. (NG)
