At its inception the Health Professions Capitation Grant program was intended to be an incentive program for various health professions schools, dental schools among them, to increase the output of peoplepower. Developments and legislative actions that led to the termination of the capitation program are reviewed. (Author/MLW)

Psychoeducation is presented as a philosophy and a series of skills which allied health practitioners and educators can use to improve the preventive care and positive health enhancement aspects of their professional practice. An historical perspective of the American College Health Association emphasizes the importance of teamwork among health personnel. The current trend in litigation toward health care professionals and the regulatory role of government has resulted in an apparent increase in legal activity, and necessitates teamwork between doctors and lawyers.
