The results indicated that (a) there is more conflict in the clinic families and (b) the normal family is characterized by a father dominance which appears to be accepted by the other members of the family; the clinic family is characterized by a mother dominance which is unacceptable to other family members. At the preschool level, this study found that variables of sex and socioeconomic status become predictors of perceptions of authority figures, but these effects lessen as the children become older.
