Sections of this paper include the identification of terminology problems encountered in previous efforts to develop perspectives on multiracial school improvement and an introduction of the "operational functions of school" model with a rationale for its value in improving multiracial schools. In the midst of all the criticism of today's schools, a few innovations in the educational process stand out as effective procedures for improving school programs.
