A survey of 160 Black and White fathers was conducted to investigate differences and similarities in their family characteristics and attitudes toward the father role. Analysis of data indicates that Black and White fathers are more similar than dissimilar. Implications of the findings for parent education programs are presented. (Author)

Maternal involvement effects on symbolic play development in toddlers were investigated. Sixteen mother-child dyads were observed at bimonthly intervals in a free-play setting during the period from 20 to 28 months of age.
