Childbirth during marital disruption is found to be a surprisingly frequent occurrence. Both prevalence of intermarital fertility and social policy issues which are involved suggest this phenomenon may be similar in importance to illegitimacy. (Author)

Moderately retarded institutionalized residents received 10 weeks of structured group counseling focused on five areas of social and personal adjustment. Results showed that in each of the above variables, the experimental group showed a greater mean score than that of the control group. (Author)

The studies sought to determine if changes that would influence women's life styles could occur by providing a supportive learning environment, rather than through traditional individual or group counseling. Examined the most effective usage of videotape in job interview skill training for 24 mentally retarded young adults utilizing the microcounseling model of instruction. Effects of videotaped models in eliciting self-disclosure were assessed for men and women in unsupervised groups of one or both sexes. Videotaped modeling was clearly superior to a control condition in increasing self-disclosure. Females generally displayed more self-disclosure than males. (Author)
