Davidson, William B. – Teaching of Psychology, 1987
This article describes a project which required students to write assessment items for a personality inventory. The 104 items generated were administered to 126 subjects. Results showed the items were reasonably reliable and valid. The pedagogical value of the project is discussed. (Author/JDH)

Holland's Vocational Preference Inventory was administered to 373 undergraduates. The 11 scales of the inventory were intercorrelated and factor analyzed. Six common factors were obtained. The placement of the six personality types in six-dimensional space by factor analysis corresponded closely to Holland's model. (Author)

Thirty-two terminators and 28 continuers in personal counseling were compared on three measures derived from precounseling Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) data. Studied whether men (N=19) who had committed very severe assaults and who score high on the Overcontrolled Hostility (O-H) scale had assertion deficits that could be measured behaviorally. Results showed the high O-H group was significantly less assertive than control groups in role playing tasks and on questionnaire items. (WAS)
