The nature of financial and enrollment problems facing graduate social work education are outlined, and it is suggested that traditional approaches to these problems are likely to prove ineffective. Foreign language teachers' catalog course descriptions are criticized for using inappropriate arguments for them and for not clearly articulating the need for language study.
