Characteristics of 144 gifted 40-49 year olds (members of Mensa) were compared with the sample studies by L. Terman. Mensa Ss had more advanced graduate education than Terman's group and were also slightly better represented in white collaar occupations. Effects of selection bias and historical bias are considered. The paper describes the results of a three-year job placement project for moderately and severely handicapped individuals which developed a training and advocacy approach to placement that involved client training by staff at the job site. Bell and pad intervention to treat enuresis in a 21-year-old mildly mentally retarded male is reported. Enuresis was not significantly reduced after 22 weeks of standard bell and pad treatment. Therapist involvement in the program was deemphasized to offset the possibility that therapist visits were reinforcing wet nights. (Author/SW)

The test-retest IQs of 50 patients were correlated. The patients were included in the sample only because they had been given the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale before. The interval between test and retest averaged almost two years. All test-retest correlations were .90 or better. (Author)

Reports on an investigation of mid-career White male workers who received military vocational training in World War II and immediately thereafter. The results suggest that those who use their vocational training receive long-term premiums. Those who took training but report not using it appear to earn no premiums. (Author/CT)
