Ruff, Holly A. – Developmental Psychology, 1985
Two studies investigated three- and five-month-old infants' ability to discriminate and recognize different motions of rigid objects. Also explored was the nature of stimulus information which makes such discrimination and recognition possible. The results are discussed in terms of disruptions in the optic array. (Author/DST)

Personal interviews and agency records were used to examine month-by-month vocational histories of 53 sheltered workshop employees placed in competitive jobs. Most participants who were still employed after four to five years had parental support, while those who returned to the workshop or were unemployed did not. (Author/CL)

A time series study of 60 individuals (elementary through postsecondary levels) who had been labeled learning disabled in the public schools revealed their likes (such as sports and field trips) as well as dislikes (formal learning). Massoth, Neil A. – Psychology in the Schools, 1985
Performed a follow-up of a sample of children (N=24) to determine whether the McCarthy Scales administered during kindergarten is predictive of subsequent achievement test performance and predictive of course grades during the sixth grade. Results indicated that the McCarthy Scales have predictive value over a six-year period. (LLL)

Follow-up on 40 children with speech/language problems who were enrolled in a special education preschool indicates the high risk for future educational impairments. Thirty-two Ss continued to require special education services and 21 Ss have experienced difficulty with reading. (CL)

A 10-year followup of 49 deaf-blind children provided indirect comparisons of classifications of mental retardation, hearing loss, visual loss, and major communication mode. Results suggested problems with the methodology and indicated the need for new instruments to analyze current functioning as it relates to past evaluation data. (CL)

Administered the proxemic test and a psychometric test battery to 49 incarcerated offenders on two occasions, with a three-year follow-up. The Behind distance was largest on both occasions.
