This 31st annual report on placements and salaries of graduates of 65 ALA accredited library schools reveals the 1981 average beginning level salary of men and women to be $15,633, based on 1,725 known full-time professional salaries obtained from 4,512 library school graduates. Examined post-high school occupational attainment of 45 students who participated in an experiment in voluntary urban-suburban school busing. Describes a study of vocational agriculture programs in the southern United States to determine the impact these programs have on students. Data were analyzed to determine if categories of responses could be identified and if a significant relationship existed between these categories and the demographic variables. (CT)

In 1975, recent graduates of the 13 vocational programs offered in Swedish comprehensive high schools were surveyed about their current employment, its match to their school training, and their opinions about the latter. A survey of the 928 1979-80 English doctorate recipients revealed that 62% had full-time teaching positions, although only 45% of males and 37% of females received full-time tenure track positions; 11% had part-time teaching appointments or postdoctoral fellowships; and 13% had alternative work.
