Belgian freshman attitudes towards and expectations of chemistry courses before and after the first year are examined statistically. Among the findings: negative attitudes toward chemistry are related to level of difficulty, and overlap of population interests show that course needs could be met best by developing four separate courses. A survey of 78 female Florida home economics teachers identified two types of teacher efficacy. Teaching efficacy as outcome expectancies was the only significant predictor of global attitudes; personal teacher efficacy (self-efficacy) was the only significant predictor of global education practices.
