Presents a cost-effective method developed to sample older Blacks by telephone using existing information from previous surveys. Asking Black adult respondents from a national survey and others in their households for referrals to parents or grandparents yielded approximately one older Black per Black respondent in the original survey. The students at the Longfellow Elementary School in Fargo, North Dakota, spent the better part of the second semester using CIRCUS as the theme for all subject areas. For younger students the project was a real test of motor skills, for older students it was a chance to create their own clown face. (Author/RK)

Art frequently remains an abstract concept outside the daily lives of our students. One project that can be integral with daily life and, at the same time, extend to the most complex art form, could be the 3-dimensional construction or toy. (Author/RK)
