In terms of numbers and public acceptance, the community college is well accepted as an innovative form of higher education. Lack of established tradition has made possible the exploration of new theories about the learning process. (MLF)

Explores the effects of school budget cuts on music education in Oak Grove, California. When most public school music classes were eliminated, community members and parents organized a nonprofit association to teach music at cost.
