Regional Disparities in Educational Facilities: Evidence from a Developing Country
Educational Process: International Journal, v19 Article e2025603 2025
Purpose: This study examines how schools and colleges are distributed geographically throughout the district and pinpoints the causes, including socioeconomic circumstances, population density, transit systems, and governmental regulations. Methods: This study uses Geographic Information System (GIS) tools and descriptive statistical methods to investigate regional differences in the distribution of educational facilities in developing country Bangladesh's Narsingdi District. Results/findings: The results show notable disparities in educational access, especially in isolated and rural sub-districts. Conclusion: In order to address these disparities, the study suggests policy interventions such as better transport, more infrastructure investment, and the opening of new educational facilities in underprivileged areas. In order to guarantee a more equitable distribution of educational resources throughout the district, it also highlights the necessity of community involvement and public-private partnerships.
