Surveyed college placement personnel (N=45) and recruiters (N=84) to gain insight into the understanding each has of the other's role. Despite their common goal, results indicate a lack of understanding regarding the constraints, duties, and attitudes of both perspectives. A process of work-study job placement at the University of South Carolina which improves the efficiency of program management is described, including a preliminary campus survey, a manual for employers, and a job board from which students can select preferred jobs. Texas State Technical Institute was able to expand its fund-raising capacity effectively by establishing a nonprofit, tax-exempt foundation composed of business and industry leaders. Besides financial and equipment assistance, the foundation also serves in student job placement. (SK)
