Teachers must be exceptionally attentive to the needs of emotionally disturbed children from socio-culturally deprived homes. Often, teachers must show acceptance of the child where the parent has not. The self concept of the emotionally confused child is variable and must be dealt with consistently and honestly by parents and teachers. (KH)
