Ivey, Allen E.; Hinkle, John E. – Community Ment Health J, 1970
This report analyzes the communication between two social agencies, a state hospital and a community mental health center, as they attempted to develop working ties through a liaison social worker. Peer reviewedReid, Greg – Learning Disability Quarterly, 1982
All physical activities incorporate perceptual motor coordination, and physical activities for learning disabled children should provide from among three types of movement outcomes--movement control, movement behavior, or movement experience. Instruction should focus on task analysis, the student's strengths, and success with an appropriate amount…

Peer reviewedHarrison, R. Graeme; Nolan, Kevin B. – Journal of Chemical Education, 1982
Background information, laboratory procedures, and discussion of results are provided for syntheses of cobalt (III) complexes, I-III, illustrating three possible bonding modes of glycine to a metal ion (the complex cations II and III being linkage/geometric isomers). Includes spectrophotometric and potentiometric methods to distinguish among the…

Peer reviewedMosha, Donnati M. S. – Journal of Chemical Education, 1982
Laboratory procedures, background information, and discussion of experimental results are provided for the preparation of Thallium (I) Pentacyanocobaltate (II). The preparation of this pale green salt is carried out in an aqueous medium. (Author/JN)
Descriptors: Chemical Reactions, Chemistry, College Science, Coordination Compounds
Peer reviewedNettleton, Brian – Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1982
Students were ranked in ability to anticipate the arrival of a relatively fast moving stimulus at a certain point along a trackway and compared with "narrow attentional focus," a measure of attentional style. An association between an individual's field independence and performance on an anticipation task was shown. (Author/CM)

Peer reviewedHenderson, Sheila E.; And Others – Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry and Allied Disciplines, 1981
Down's syndrome, normal, and mentally retarded children performed continuous tracking and drawing tasks. Normal children performed the main tracking task better and were better on all temporal components than were the other groups. No differences separated groups on spatial aspects. Down's syndrome children performed more poorly than retarded…

Peer reviewedDeMers, Stephen T.; And Others – Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1981
This study compared the performance of school-aged children referred for learning or adjustment difficulties on Beery's Developmental Test of Visual-Motor Integration and Koppitz's version of the Bender-Gestalt test. Results indicated that the tests are related but not equivalent when administered to referred populations. (Author/AL)
Descriptors: Children, Comparative Analysis, Correlation, Learning Problems
Peer reviewedHayn, Carl H. – Physics Teacher, 1981
Describes the discovery, physical properties, and future applications of liquid crystals. (SK)
