Paper is an analysis of 3,787 response to a questionnaire administered to a nationwide (especially urban north) random sample by the National Opinion Research Center in the summer of 1966. A study compared mentoring among teachers, nurses, and police officers. Results are compared to studies conducted in other professions, and suggestions for educators and administrators are offered. (FG)
