A group of 250 early retirees and a similar group of 422 nonretired Michigan Civil Service employees were compared. Southern Illinois University at Carbondale has moved to control unsportsmanlike conduct in intramural sports by instituting a program dealing with causes as well as results. A survey of 137 older persons from the mailing list of a multipurpose senior center found that participants and nonparticipants in the center's activities did not differ in terms of their life satisfaction.
