In the extern program undergraduates work with alumni on a variety of projects which bring them into real problem solving situations similar to those they will face on the job. This program is one example of how college Placement Personnel can make their offices and roles a necessary and integral part of the students' experience. (JC)

As a result of a SATRA Course it was found that employees acting as instructors became good supervisors; as instructors they were experiencing situations similar to those of supervisors. Thus, while instructors are training newcomers, the instructors, themselves, are training for supervisory positions. (RB)

Study results indicated that high liking and high empathy together did not predict successful outcome, though a post hoc analysis showed a positive relationship between high empathy alone and successful outcome.
