Study of 438 male and female competitive and recreational basketball players indicated that successful and unsuccessful leisure experiences strongly shaped subjects' needs for leisure participation. Outpatient subjects made more subtle discriminations between the curative factors in the group psychotherapy process. Day treatment subjects were unable to discriminate between many of the factors but were able to identify group cohesiveness as the most helpful curative factor. (JAC)

Two educationally acceptable models explaining the correlation of grades with satisfaction are delineated in two studies. Both demonstrate that the relationship between grades and student satisfaction might be a result of important causal relationships among other variables rather than evidence of contamination due to grading leniency. Formative evaluation of a physics curriculum unit (PLON) is reported. Phase one used general ideas and many instruments; phase two focused on specific questions arising from phase one.
