Teachers were polled by both Gallup and Harris to see how they felt about issues in education. Findings indicate that teachers are concerned but not despairing. Teacher responses on a variety of topics are presented. (DF)

Perceptions of science teaching goals are reported from a state-wide survey of 1,078 students and 433 educators in Iowa. Data from the Educational Goal Inventory indicates that 4 of the 8 science goals were of marginal importance to students; ratings from educators were higher.
