College males were placed into six groups of friends and strangers, with two persons per group. Working alone and with partners, subjects were asked to exert vertical pressure using a six foot pole. Compared the performance of normal and remedial reading groups (N=48) on intersensory and intrasensory tasks requiring paired and serial recall. Examined the effects of race of examiner and level of mistrust of Whites on the Stanford-Binet performance of 105 Black elementary school children. Examined memory for the lateral orientation of scenic pictures in young (N=112) and older (N=109) adults in two experiments under incidental or intentional learning conditions. Results suggested an age-related deficit in truly non-intentional encoding of orientation and pose a challenge for capacity theories of memory across the lifespan. (JAC)

The internal reliability of the Speech Sounds Perception Test was examined in two independent samples. Both indicated a significantly greater number of errors on the first half of the test; the largest number of errors occurred on Subtests B and A.
