Evaluates the importance of realism in the screen presentation of the plant in computer-based laboratory simulations for part-time engineering students. Interviews with 36 adult part-time students at Warwick and Coventry Universities showed that 13 alternate student roles with other life roles and 23 attempt to combine roles and responsibilities.
