Counselor reports of the time and travel allocated to various activities were correlated with caseload statistics representing the rehabilitation outcomes of their clients. Evaluation of the unsuccessfully closed cases of 57 deaf vocational rehabilitation clients found that the presence of a secondary disability, a low family income, few years of formal education, inexperienced counselors, and reduced funding for rehabilitation were predictors of unsuccessful closure.
