Minimum trace factor analysis has been used to find the greatest lower bound to reliability. This technique, however, fails to be scale free. A solution to the scale problem is proposed through the maximization of the greatest lower bound as the function of weights. (Author/JKS)

The factor-analytic structure of the SRBCSS (Scale for Rating Behavioral Characteristics of Superior Children) was analyzed to determine whether the factors found are similar to the behavioral dimensions that the SRBCSS purports to assess. The results suggest that there are five dimensions being assessed by the SRBCSS. (Author/CL)

A linear structural model for comparing quasi-Markov models across populations is demonstrated. A confirmatory factor analysis formulation of the simplex model is also developed for between group comparisons. A variety of possible applications of this approach are suggested. (Author)

One hundred undergraduate arts students were tested on all the scales of Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scales (WAIS) and the Differential Aptitude Tests. Varimax solutions were extracted on WAIS scores under four analytic conditions. No progressive increment in the WAIS communalities was marked as the marker variables increased. (Author/RL)
