Ross, Bruce M. – Journal of Experimental Psychology, 1972
Frequency Theory, deriving from word recognition studies, was applied to immediate recognition of nonrepresentational pictorial items by 12-year old Ss. (Author)
Descriptors: Data Analysis, Memory, Nonverbal Learning, Recognition
Peer reviewedRoss, Robert T. – Developmental Psychology, 1971
An analysis of changes in CA, MA, and IQ in 324 patients, representative of the population of a hospital for mentally retarded, indicated that the decrement in IQ in mentally retarded children is due primarily to increases in CA and not to decreases in MA. It appears that MA is the more meaningful index of intelligence level. (Author/WY)
Descriptors: Data Analysis, Hospitalized Children, Intelligence, Intelligence Quotient

Diemert, Norman E.; Holdaway, Edward A. – Alberta J Educ Res, 1970
To a small degree, team teachers express more satisfaction with their work than do traditional teachers. (CK)
Descriptors: Conventional Instruction, Data Analysis, Questionnaires, Tables (Data)
Giles, Howard – Educ Rev, 1970
A study of various accents characteristics of certain groups in Great Britain and the prestige associated with these accents is presented. (CK)

Rosenberg, Neal E. – J Secondary Educ, 1970
The results of this study indicate that the most feasibly sized high school from an economic standpoint is a small one of approximately four to five hundred students. (CK)
Descriptors: Data Analysis, High Schools, Hypothesis Testing, School District Spending
Peer reviewedBerenson, Mark L. – Psychometrika, 1982
The statistical power of nine k-sample tests against ordered location alternatives under completely randomized designs are investigated. The results are intended to aid researchers in selecting appropriate statistical procedures. (Author/JKS)
Descriptors: Analysis of Variance, Data Analysis, Hypothesis Testing, Research Design
Peer reviewedCudeck, Robert; Browne, Michael W. – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1983
Methods for comparing the suitability of alternative models for covariance matrices are examined. A cross-validation procedure is suggested and its properties examined. A series of examples using longitudinal data are examined. (Author/JKS)
Descriptors: Correlation, Data Analysis, Multiple Regression Analysis, Multivariate Analysis
Peer reviewedRindskopf, David – Psychometrika, 1983
Current computer programs for analyzing linear structural models will apparently handle only two types of constraints: fixed parameter and equal parameters. In this paper, a method for imposing several types of inequality of parameter constraints is described. Several examples are presented. (Author/JKS)
Descriptors: Analysis of Variance, Computer Programs, Data Analysis, Mathematical Models
Peer reviewedHuberty, Carl J.; Holmes, Susan E. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1983
An alternative analysis of the two-group single response variable design is proposed. It involves the classification of experimental units to populations represented by the two groups. Three real data sets are provided to illustrate the utility of the classification analysis. A table of sample sizes required for the analysis is presented.…

Peer reviewedRenner, Barbara Rochen; Ball, Donald W. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1983
To determine the effect of violating the assumption of homogeneity of covariance for the Tukey Wholly Significant Difference (WSD) test, Monte Carlo simulations varied the number of treatment groups, sample size, and degree of covariance heterogeneity. As covariance heterogeneity was increased, the empirical significance levels increased beyond…
