Swiercinsky, Dennis P.; Hallenbeck, Charles E. – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1975
The interest in this study was to determine the factor structure of the independent variables in a brain-damaged population and to assess its predictive value for complex test variables independent of those variables that determine the factor set. (Author/RK)

Stewart, Thomas R. – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1974
Suggests a way of using factor analytic techniques to supplement multidimensional scaling in such a way as to provide a firm basis for evaluating multidimensional representations. (Author/RC)
Descriptors: Evaluation Criteria, Factor Analysis, Matrices, Multidimensional Scaling
Liemohn, Wendell; Knapczyk, Dennis R. – Research Quarterly, 1974
The study investigated the subtest items included in the test. (JS)

McNeil, Keith A. – College Student Journal, 1974
The goal of the present research was to determine the factor structure of anxiety in a collegiate population. The self-report instrument found useful with elementary students was slightly modified and administered to the college students. Only slight discrepancies appeared between the elementary data and the college data. (Author)

Permut, Steven E. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1974
Underlying factor structure of 10 concepts rated by 67 students in an introductory advertising course was examined. Dimensions of relevance were found to conform to results reported by Menges and Trumpeter (1971) suggesting the potential for a university of basic dimensions of educational relevance across diverse fields of learning. (Author/RC)

Burbach, Harold J.; Wagoner, Jennings L., Jr. – Journal of Negro Education, 1974
This study examined empirically the structure of the powerlessness construct and compared the factorial structure of the concept across racial groups. The results suggested that powerlessness can be meaningfully interpreted as a general concept. However, with respect to the factorial structure of the individual dimensions of powerlessness, enough…

Dunmire, Phyllisann M.; And Others – 1988
Confirmatory maximum likelihood factor analysis was used to determine how accurately each of several hypothesized combinations of first-order and/or higher-order factors could describe the covariation within selected sub-matrices taken from the total correlation matrix originally analyzed by M. O'Sullivan et al. (1965). Focus was on evaluating the…

Larsen, Gary Y. – 1984
The paper describes the reasons for developing a new instrument to measure adaptive behavior of mentally retarded residents at Glenwood State Hospital-School and recounts the processes involved in constructing the new scale. Among complaints about the American Association on Mental Deficiency Adaptive Behavior Scale (ABS) are its inappropriateness…

Jimenez, Rebecca S. – 1984
Oral history and Q methodology (a social science technique designed to document objectively and numerically the reactions of individuals to selected issues) were used to investigate urban renewal in Waco, Texas. Nineteen persons directly involved in the city's relocation and rehabilitation projects granted interviews. From these oral histories, 70…

Richardson, Rita C. – 1989
This paper compares the Hersey-Natemeyer "Power Perception Profile" with the "Richardson Power Profile (RPP)," both of which are measures of a leader's reliance on power bases to affect followers within organizations. Two previously conducted factor analyses of the normative measure--the RPP--indicate that there are fewer than…
