Tested reliability and validity of an instrument designed to measure the strength of care, and justice as moral voices, in college students. Used 381 students in the study and found that the internal consistency and validity of the instrument were satisfactory. Construct validity was limited by the lack of other appropriate instruments. Parents (n=64) rated their four- and five-year-old children's positive and negative behaviors so as to investigate interparent agreement. Results indicate low to moderate interparent correlations across all four scales. Absolute differences between pairs of mothers' and fathers' ratings were large and consistent across instruments. After identification of an alternative model of the School Social Behavior Scales, the invariance of the new model was tested with half of the original standardization sample (n=2,047).
