Pennell, Roger – 1971
It is argued that many investigators utilize the Tucker and Messick (1963) Model with no intention of looking for individual differences or, after utilizing the model, draw improper inferences. An example is given illustrating the difficulties which result from improper use of the model. Several proper methods are outlined. (Author)

Pollock, Thomas Clark – English Record, 1971
This document is a report on a study of errors in spelling which high school students in 48 states, the District of Columbia, and Canada have made in their writing, with special reference to the words most frequently misspelled, their relative frequency, and the kinds of spelling errors which the student made. An analysis of the different words…

Novick, Melvin R. – 1971
An interactive computer-based system for assisting investigators in the use of Bayesian analysis using the two parameter normal model is described. An important feature of this program is that it interacts with the investigator in the English language; he need not be familiar with computer languages or with the internal workings of the computer.…

Archer, Claud O.; Jennrich, Robert I. – 1973
Beginning with the results of Girschick on the asymptotic distribution of principal component loadings and those of Lawley on the distribution of unrotated maximum likelihood factor loadings, the asymptotic distributions of the corresponding analytically rotated loadings is obtained. The principal difficulty is the fact that the transformation…

The second part of a 2-part report on job development in selected Metropolitan areas, this document contains an overview of the methodological approach to the study as well as survey coverage, procedures followed, and development of the survey instruments. Appendixes contain abstracts of the literature reviewed during the study and copies of the…

The basic assumption underlying the assessment of motor learning through mathematical analysis is that motor learning behaves exponentially when described as a function of practice time. It is assumed that motor learning will continuously taper off (minimizing errors) with increased practice and eventually approach as asympote. Although many…

Horowitz, Frances Degen; And Others – 1972
A study was conducted in which the infants' behavior was allowed to control stimulus duration. A group of five infants were tested once a week from 3 through 14 weeks of age. A second group of five infants were tested once a week from 8 through 14 weeks of age. A third group of 18 infants were tested once at 3, 8, or 14 weeks of age. Once a…

Quality assurance is viewed as a means of maintaining desired performance levels during the operational use of a developed instructional program. Presented here is an analysis of the functions and the basic requirements of a quality assurance system. Procedures for implementing the system are described and discussed. The procedures include…

Mandeville, Garrett K.
Results of a comparative study of F and Q tests, in a randomized block design with one replication per cell, are presented. In addition to these two procedures, a multivariate test was also considered. The model and test statistics, data generation and parameter selection, results, summary and conclusions are presented. Ten tables contain the…

Hakstian, A. Ralph – 1971
Five models are introduced for the factor analytic treatment of a set of measures obtained for the same sample of persons on two different occasions. The models differ in terms of the assumptions made regarding the constancy of the (1) factor (actually component) score and (2) factor pattern matrices from occasion 1 to 2. Least-squares procedures…

A study designed to obtain information regarding vocational evaluation programs, their staff, and the vocational evaluation services they provide is presented. A survey questionnaire was constructed and distributed on a national level to facilities identified as having at least one full-time vocational evaluator. Data was analyzed with respect to…

Computational formulae for the following three tests of significance, useful in the interrupted time series design, are given: (1) a "t" test (Mood, 1950) for the significance of the first post-change observation from a value predicted by a linear fit of the pre-change observations; (2) an "F" test (Walker and Lev, 1953) of the…

Datta, Lois-Ellin – Journal of Career Education, 1976
The need for career education evaluation studies to integrate implementation and outcome data are examined. Various kinds of implementation and outcome data are examined. Various kinds of implementation, three analytic models, and the interpretation of data and findings are discussed. Seven approaches to solving the problem are listed. (BP)
