Reports on a study that examined the readability of a selection of C. S. E. papers taken from six subject areas. Found that, with the exception of that given in history, the exams did not make excessive demands on the candidates' reading skills. (FL)

A content analysis of book reviews published in the "Journal of American History" over the past 30 years showed that reviewers define good history in terms compatible with the cultural currents of their times. The analysis also identified trends in the subjects and historical eras of works published. (RM)

Examines pictorial representations of men, women, boys, and girls in popular computer magazines through content analysis. Results show (1) many stereotypic portrayals and (2) women overrepresented as clerical workers and sex objects and in passive roles vis-a-vis computers.
