Anderson, Bruce – Environment, 1975
Widespread use of solar energy is unsuccessful with large scale integration required and conservatism of responsible institutions. Rising fuel costs and government promotion may initiate expansion in commercial, environmental, and government establishments, homes, and schools. Difficulties encountered include financing, tax incentives, design,…

Geesaman, Donald P.; Abrahamson, Dean E. – Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, 1974
Emphasizes some of the defects of nuclear technology and stresses that the ultimate protection of society from the hazards of nuclear technology is the stability of society. (PEB)
Descriptors: Atomic Theory, Environment, Nuclear Physics, Pollution
Molde, T. – South Australian Science Teachers Journal, 1974
Presented is a discussion focusing on teaching radioactivity in the schools. The author suggests equipment available and experiments that can be performed. (PEB)

Simon, H. J.; And Others – American Journal of Physics, 1975
Describes an experiment in which a 500-A-thick silver film is evaporated on the hypotenuse face of a right glass prism. The surface plasmon mode in the film is excited with a He-Ne laser. The dispersion relation for the surface plasmon and the reflectivity due to the excitation of this mode are calculated. (Author/MLH)
