Methods and findings are summarized from a classical randomized experiment used to evaluate the Nutrition Education and Training (NET) Program developed and implemented in Nebraska. The gifted education movement in California is traced, and the efforts of the California Association for Gifted (a parent group) to save the California gifted program are reviewed. Factors contributing to the CSPD success include extensive involvement of a wide array of people in the process, clear responsibility outlines, and workable size of the cooperative personnel planning council.
