Overall teaching effectiveness (OTE) was computed from student evaluations of teacher performance in a university business school. Class size, teaching assistants, and perception of class difficulty did not negatively affect OTE, but students' grade expectations had a significant influence. (SK)

A survey of Norwegian university faculty (n=1,815) shows significant differences between disciplines in time spent on teaching and preparation and in distribution of time between different types of teaching and teaching levels. The use of the "none-of-the-above" option (NOTA) in 20 college-level multiple-choice tests was evaluated for classes with 100 or more students. Cardinality responses are affected by both the direction and nature of the elements in the counting sequence. Error analysis suggests six stages in the acquisition of cardinality.
