Navigating a Sea of Reforms: Sustaining School Health Centers through Statewide Initiatives
L. Eisenberg; E. Sabalburo; J. Ford
WestEd
School Health Centers play a vital role in providing youth with easy access to health care, improving both health and education outcomes. In California, two major initiatives--the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) and California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM)--are reshaping how health services are delivered in schools. To help School Health Centers navigate these changes, WestEd partnered with Alameda County Health, Healthy Schools and Communities to provide practical guidance on leveraging these statewide reforms. This report summarizes key research findings and actionable strategies to support School Health Centers in adapting to and benefiting from these system-wide changes. [This report was created in partnership with Alameda County Health, Healthy Schools and Communities.]
