This paper describes a multidiscipline center organized within an urban school system to deal with the educational difficulties of disruptive children. Data relevant to the evaluation of the success of the center's first 18 months of operation are given. (Author)

Sequential treatment involving systematic desensitization and relaxation, symbolic (film), live, and participant modeling were employed in the successful alleviation of a severe snake phobia. Desensitization or assertive training or both were applied to hospitalized schizophrenics who displayed phobias, lack of interpersonal assertiveness, or both. In none of the patients did desensitization produce any reduction of avoidance of the feared object. The assertive training produces minimal improvement in two patients. (Author)

In a case of claustrophobia and in another with fears of flying, Japanese defense activities of the Karate type proved to be effective counter conditioners of anxiety. They were used in the former case in vivo and in the later case both in imagination and in vivo. (Author)

Results indicated that the average child manifests a few of each type of deviant behavior, but rarely shows a large number of behaviors related to any one type of disorder.
