Employment survey data show that, although training intensity in the first three months of employment is similar for men and women, women are employed in positions with shorter training and less capital. In a survey of 54 personnel/human resource directors, 8 trainers, and 16 managers in Texas manufacturing firms, 34% forecast a decrease in hiring of high school graduates. Most-desired skill categories were group interaction, employability, and personal development, not communication and computation. (SK)

Interviews with 20 hospitality graduates with mild disabilities indicated that 90% found employment, but only 45% net an income above the poverty line.
