Explored the phenomenon of late marriage in 41 highly educated professional women. Compared with normative marriers, the late-marrying women had higher career goals, a more egalitarian role structure in marriage, and were more accepting of premarital sex and cohabitation. Assessed the impact of stress on 94 adolescents using a brief version of the Adolescent Life Change Event Scale (ALCES). Used a case-control study to provide individual-based data from 5,009 suicides and 17,064 controls, describing the impact of being a cancer patient on the odds of suicide. Data indicated that cancer patients are 50 to 100 percent more likely than nonpatients to commit suicide. (JAC)

Used data from three generations to examine the association of intimacy to aid and contact in mother-daughter relationships. Results showed aid and contact were not predictive of intimacy.
