Thirty gifted children (grades six to eight) were allocated to either progressive muscle relaxation or biofeedback treatment groups or to a no-treament, control group. Three groups of women who varied in abortion status were formed to investigate the self-concept and locus of control of a total of 90 women. Results of a study involving 63 emotionally disturbed boys (10-15 years old) revealed that Ss with a higher degree of internal lows of control (LOC) made greater gains in academic achievement. Ss' chronological ages and IQ cores did not affect their degree of internal LOC. (Author/CL)

Analysis of scores on the "Learning Styles Inventory" and "Survey of Study Habits and Attitudes" of 267 hearing impaired and 100 hearing college students revealed that externality was related to less effective educational attitudes, and that hearing impaired Ss were more internal than hearing Ss.
