Cooper, Harris – Journal of Research and Development in Education, 1985
Questions repeatedly arise about whether evaluations of research papers are systematically influenced by factors unrelated to quality, such as gender or prestige of the authors or reviewers. This study examined the reliability of reviews of proposals submitted for inclusion in the 1984 American Educational Research Association annual meeting…

Lubin, Bernard; Collins, James F. – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1985
Presents data on the translation, reliability, concurrent validity, and norms of the Spanish, Hebrew, and Chinese versions of three equivalent forms of the Depression Adjective Check Lists, compared with the English version. Reliability estimates for the four versions were quite similar in magnitude. (NRB)

Burke, Henry R. – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1985
Provides new American age norms for Raven's Progressive Matrices, based on screening of 500 vocational counseling and 2,992 psychiatric veteran patients newly admitted to hospital. Reliability data were acceptable, but indicated need for revision of the Raven. Within limits set by current reliability, validity data presented were positive.…

Perney, Jan; Morris, Darrell – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1984
The Vowel Matching Test (VMT) measures primary grade children's ability to discriminate medial vowel sounds. Based on the responses of 43 first-grade pupils, the results indicated that the VMT correlated .76 with a word recognition test. It exhibited an internal consistency coefficient of .78. (Author/BW)

Williams, Richard H.; Zimmerman, Donald W. – Journal of Experimental Education, 1984
This paper provides a list of 10 salient features of the standard error of measurement, contrasting it to the reliability coefficient. It is concluded that the standard error of measurement should be regarded as a primary characteristic of a mental test. (Author/DWH)

Krammer, Hein, P. M.; Van Der Linden, Wim J. – Journal of Experimental Education, 1986
Occasionally situations arise in which a measurement does not lend itself to such traditional methods of reliability estimation as the test-retest, parallel-test, or internal consistency methods. This paper proposes basing reliability estimation in such situations on estimates of validity coefficients as lower bounds. (Author/LMO)
