Examines psychometric and normative questions related to the Areas of Change Questionnaire (AC) for 163 couples. Results offered support for the AC as a measure of overall marital adjustment, revealed differences according to sex and distress, and found that length of marriage influenced actual and perceived requests for change. Investigated the factor structure of the Levels of Attribution and Change (LAC) Scale on two samples: adult smokers (N=194) and professional psycho-therapists (N=140). Analysis of data substantiated the utility and internal validity of the LAC theoretical scales and supported the present scoring system. (LLL)

Construct validity patterns of test-criteria and item-criteria correlations are shown to be inconsistent across samples. The results of an investigation of construct validity patterns on two published personality scales is presented. (JKS)

The Ross Educational Philosophical Inventory was psychometrically examined through the use of expert judges and factor analysis of a sample of responses to the inventory. Results are negative in general, but moderately positive results were found in relation to two of the four categories of the inventory. (JKS)

This study considers the problem of deciding when a selection test is invalid for members of a minority group. There is both a strong empirical and theoretical basis for rejecting the choice of zero correlation between test and criterion as an appropriate null hypothesis. (Author)

The 13 basic Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) scales, 21 experimental scales of hostility and control, and four response-bias scales are cross-validated on 168 male criminals assigned to four aggressive criterion groups (nonviolent, threat, battery, and homicide). (Author)

The purpose of this investigation was to develop a short form of the WAIS that would have concurrent validity as well as construct validity. The short form, the "Adaptability" Scale, constructed was significantly related to Full Scale IQ's (construct validity) and to workshop performance (concurrent validity). (Author/CG)

Owing to the uncertainty concerning the concurrent validity of the SVIB and the KOIS, a test of accuracy of classification of men in the occupations common to both inventories was undertaken. The results suggest that neither show any less validity than had been shown in separate studies previously. (Author)
