Determining the Factors Affecting the Adoption of E-Learning Platforms Providing Support for High School Entrance Exams
Turkish Online Journal of Distance Education, v26 n4 Article 13 p240-250 2025
The rapid spread of information and communication technologies available via the internet has led to increased incorporation of e-learning systems (ELS) into education. Determining the criteria for users' effective adoption of an ELS is complex and must be multidimensional to increase user satisfaction and system effectiveness in practice and in research. The aim of this research was to define the most effective criteria for the adoption of an ELS with an evaluation model based on a fuzzy multi-criteria approach and to compare alternatives. The goal was to present findings for system designers, educators, and researchers on adopting ELSs. The current literature on ELSs was examined comprehensively, decision makers with expertise in relevant fields were interviewed, and the fuzzy COPRAS technique was applied. Based on the literature review, the study focused on e-learning platforms that provide support to middle school students for high school entrance exams, and seven criteria were selected. Four decision makers, experts in their fields, were consulted to evaluate the criteria and alternatives according to the level of importance of the factors. The results indicated that the most important criterion for selecting an ELS was content, followed by flexibility, design, interaction, support, usability, and trust, in order of importance.
