A three-dimensional (3-D) test, comparable to twenty-five items from the Boehm Test of Basic Concepts, constructed to determine whether 3-D stimuli would facilitate responses when compared to two dimensional (2-D) stimuli, revealed no significant effects for the version of the test (2-D or 3-D) or the order of administration. Evaluated the validity of the Slosson Intelligence test as determined by the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R). Results indicated that the Slosson correctly predicted functioning level to within 10 IQ points of the WISC-R Full Scale scores for 88 percent of the subjects. (LLL)

Determined effects of various methods and formats on subjects' (N=253) responses to a Piagetian reasoning problem requiring control of variables. Results indicate that format but not method of task administration influences subjects' performance and that the influence is similar for various combinations of methods and format. (Author/JN)

Explored the relationship between a short form of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R) and McCarthy Screening Test (MST) for a sample of northeastern Ohio children (N=42). Results showed that all the subtests except for Leg Coordination scores correlated significantly with the WISC-R Verbal scale. (LLL)
