Research in criminal justice involving human subjects has increased greatly, yet we have no code of ethics to guide such research. The relationship between therapy and personality variables is studied by comparing therapy participants with a matched control group. It was found that inmates in therapy scored significantly higher on both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation for therapy; however, there was no correlation with need for therapy. (Author)

Findings demonstrate a strong link between multiple parenting breakdown and markedly disrupted family experiences in childhood. Administered a battery of tests to delinquent adolescent boys (N=100) to measure intelligence, mental control, self-concept and physical fitness. Results indicated significant prediction of prosocial behavior in the year after institutionalization was achieved by using tests that reflected mental control and academic achievement. (LLL)
