The focus of this study was on college student satisfaction and the perceptions of that satisfaction by academic advisors and the student affairs staff members. Results indicate that student affairs staff more accurately perceive the level of student satisfaction than academic advisors. (Author/HMV)

A distinction is made between the acquisition of phonetics and of phonology. Their interaction and the ways in which they interfere with each other are discussed. A multivariate analysis of postanxiety measures showed no differences between the treatment groups but in comparison to the no-treatment control group both treatments were associated with significant anxiety reduction on four measures related to speech disturbance, extraneous body movement, and self-reported anxiety. Males and females who differed on measures of defensiveness and anxiety predicted, and in a later experimental interview evaluated, their verbal exploration and subjective comfort following a role-induction exercise. Low defensive-low anxious subjects were most successful in their overall participation. (Author)
