Explored the roles of genes and environment in masculinity and femininity during pre- and early adolescence in 70 twins of 8-14 years. Results revealed significant genetic influences in all measures. Survey responses from 280 British students aged 11-16 found girls well disposed toward physical education and almost as confident in their physical abilities as boys.
