A Re-Appraisal of Assessment Practices in the Light of the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) Act.
Sutherland, L.; Peckham, G.
South African Journal of Higher Education, v12 n2 p98-103 1998
Implementation of the 1995 South African Qualifications Act necessitates a shift in the student-assessment model. Faculty must cope with increasingly underprepared students. Computer-assisted assessment is one alternative, but engaging the learner in the assessment process, through authentic and collaborative assessment processes, may be the best way to support lifelong learning.
