Toronto Univ. (Ontario). Dept. of Geology. – 1965
The PEDAGE system, at the present time, is a set of programs written in FORTRAN IV language for an IBM 7094 computer. They are in the form of separate main programs with similar data formats, but will be modified in the future to the form of subroutines so that one or more can be called by main programs designed by the individual users. In this…

Harris, Chester W. – 1972
The efficiency of mastery tests of fixed length which sorts students into two categories is analyzed. For the sort of the students, an index, suggested by Fisher's linear discriminant function for two groups, is provided. (DB)

Gelso, Charles J.; And Others. – 1972
This study assessed the extent to which students commit various types of errors when completing Holland's Self-Directed Search (SDS) entirely on their own. Nearly all students made some type of error and approximately half of the students made errors that affected their final 3-letter summary codes. Almost one-fifth of the students made errors…

MASLING, JOSEPH M.; STERN, GEORGE G. – 1966
A STUDY WAS DESIGNED TO PRODUCE AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE INFLUENCE OF A TEACHER'S MOTIVES FOR HER PERFORMANCE AND EFFECTIVENESS IN THE CLASSROOM. THE FIRST ASPECT OF THE STUDY DEALT WITH A PSYCHOMETRIC DESCRIPTION OF THE INSTRUMENTS DESIGNED TO ASSESS TEACHER MOTIVES. THE SECOND ASPECT DEALT WITH THE ABILITY OF THE TEACHER PREFERENCE SCALE (TPS) TO…

Favero, Jane; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1975
Scores, hypothesized abilities and Scales on the Lorge-Thorndike Intelligence Tests (LT), Multi-Level Edition, were intercorrelated and factor analyzed to determine overlap of structure-of-intellect (SOI) ability measure, their degree of relationship with LT scales, and the possible presence of second order factors. Huck, Schuyler W.; Malgady, Robert G. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1978
The computation of F ratios from cell means and standard deviations is shown for a two-way analysis of variance. (JKS)

Gaebelein, Jacquelyn W.; Soderquist, David R. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1978
Procedures to estimate the magnitude of a treatment effect are examined for analysis of variance (ANOVA) designs which have repeated-measures. In particular, it is argued that the estimate of utility (strength of effect) for a within-subjects variable should be adjusted to reflect the underlying ANOVA model. (Author/JKS)

Young, Forrest W.; Null, Cynthia H. – Psychometrika, 1978
Multidimensional scaling has recently been enhanced so that data defined at only the nominal level of measurement can be analyzed. The efficacy of ALSCAL, an individual differences multidimensional scaling program which can analyze nominal, ordinal, interval and ratio data is presented. (Author/JKS)

Bayless, John – Journal of Physical Education and Recreation, 1978
The difficulties of testing and evaluating physical education pupils are discussed. (JD)

Maggiore, Ronald P. – Exceptional Children, 1978
The reliability of the proposed short form of the Revised Illinois Test of Psycholinguistic Abilities (ITPA) was computed on data derived from six-year-old ITPA standardization test booklets (128 Ss). (Author/CL)

Civington, Janet B.; And Others – Journal of Employment Counseling, 1978
Examines data from the General Aptitude Test Battery (GATB) to predict passage of the GED examination. Data were collected and analyzed from four different geographically diffuse states for both comparative and predictive capabilities. The G and V scores on these subtests (at 110 or greater) indicate almost definite prediction. (Author)

Duncan, George T. – Psychometrika, 1978
Statistical procedures based on Bayesian estimation for obtaining estimates of a propensity (which would include estimates of proportions or relative frequencies) are described for the special case where the observer can only note whether the propensity exceeds or does not exceed a constant between 0 and 1. (JKS)
