In spite of their relatively liberal sexual behavior, considerable evidence was found among men and women alike for the existence of a strong double standard. Using tape recorded psychotherapy sessions, three methods of assessing the quality of a psychotherapist's empathy were compared. One of the results was that the three scales were not measuring different qualities as the intercorrelations among the three empathy measures were virtually perfect when corrected for unreliability.
